All is well. We are presently anchored alone in Vunaniua Bay after a long but delightful day of sailing. We crossed the Kadavu Passage on a beam reach under reefed main and Solent in 20 knots and 3’-4’ wind waves. 1/3 daggers. After rounding Beqa Island, we ran down the Beqa Passage looking for a good spot for the night on the mainland.
We are anchored just upwind of an enormous smokey fire in the valley ashore. It took two tries to get a solid set in the soft mud here. The mud and murky water are the result of two rivers that drain into this bay.
