All is well. We are presently anchored in Vuata Bay, Naviti Island, Yasawa Archipelago, Fiji Islands. We motored around and through the Nggaraorooro Pass to the west side early this morning after a rough night in the Naviti South anchorage. Bad call on my part spending the night there. A 15-18 knot southeasterly filled in, and the resulting wind waves put our anchoring to a test. One of the few times we’ve had all 100m of our anchor chain out.
This area sits at the edge of Viti Levu’s wind shadow, making the wind difficult to precisely forecast.
It’s nice here. A good reef for snorkeling and only a 1.3-mile dinghy run to Manta Ray Alley.
